Yuen: Hi everyone, thanks for having me here. This is Yuen and I co-founded GEMS Esports 3.0 Platform, which is integrated with O2O play and we want to make named the next reports and integrate the young into the sharing economy.
Alvin: Halo everyone, this is Alvin, head of business development of GEMS. Happy to be here with tehMoonwalkeR.
Azeban: Welcome to tehMoonwalkeR’s High Table, thanks for the introductions.
Alvin: @thegemsgg is an Esports 3.0 aggregator platform within an O2O ecosystem. It propels Esports into 3.0 by integrating Gamefi, Metaverse and Socialfi elements, and leverages on its founding partners’ chain of Esports hotels. GEMS is like a STEAM plus GUILD, which leverages our online platform with an offline presence. Online refers to the GEMS platform, which is an Esports 3.0 aggregator platform within an O2O ecosystem. Offline refers to our hotel network across Asia, with Southeast Asia as the initial footstep. We believe that GameFi will be the next Esports! Thus, we would like to build an ecosystem that enables all types of users even for non-gamers to be a part of this with features with DeFi features like DeFi union, DAO Guild!
Yuen: LABS Group and Game One are investors of Arena Esports hotel, and the three parties jointly launch this platform as we believe with NFT and crypto, games can be the next esports with a sharing economy.
Azeban: Thanks for the intro, this gives those here at the High Table a broad answer in an understandable way. Can you tell us about the origins of the idea for GEMS? How far back does it go, what inspired you to start building?
Yuen: Because we can all see the rise of Gamefi projects thru the use of Defi and NFT. Because we can see the pain points of current esports of which the main profits go to the organisers and not the game developers and the gamers. Because we see the future of Web 3.0 and a sharing economy. Hence we see we can make esports into Esports 3.0, where gamers can own a bigger say and share in the new sharing economy. And we need a all in one destination for the gamers, and integrate the online and offline play.
Azeban: I love that answer, if we are talking about farming, it obviously takes a group to farm, harvest etc to get it going. Tell us about the team working on the project! What are their backgrounds? How many of you are working on GEMS at the moment?
Yuen: We have more than 15 years in esports operations, and many years in blockchain too, and hence we started building a few months back vigorously. GEMS’ founding partner’s first esports hotel will be ready in the coming months too, hence the platform can leverage on that. There would be about 50 Arena esports hotels in SEA, thru partnership, for GEMS platform to leverage on.
Alvin: Our team is located worldwide, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam and US with more than 20 core members.
Azeban: This is big.
Yuen: The three founding partners of GEMS: LABS Group: expert in blockchain tech and go-to-market strategy Game One: more than 15 years in esports operations including organising tournaments Arena Esports: starting and managing hotels and offline operations. All these combined to give the best team combination for GEMS.
Alvin: GEMS is a new concept in the blockchain industry. GEMS is like a STEAM (but in a blockchain version) plus GUILD which includes NFT Rental Portal, Defi Union, P2E Arena, Dao Guild and Fanfi studio. Azeban: now that you have mentioned all these in your infographics, lets dive deeper into your ecosystem nft rental, defi union, FANFI studio, DAO guild, P2E arena, I see that DAO guild offers players the opportunity to become guild trainers, what exactly does this mean?
Alvin: To explain further about our NFT rental, we build up a marketplace that allows blockchain gamers to access a range of powerful NFT that’s from our GameFi partners(40–45). We make rare NFT available to everyone and provide NFT rental service on our platform with an affordable fee. Good question. As mentioned, we are not just about Guild, we aim at making a beginner to a pro player and even a trainer. That's why we also build up a Fanfi studio so the gamers can learn from the Esports specialist and become the Next blockchain gamefi Pro.
Yuen: We all know that some guilds have become really huge. We believe that with our Fanfi studio, and the offline presence, can make training and grooming of gaming talents easier and more effective, this includes trainers, streamers and influencers.
Azeban: that makes sense, I can see you are building an entire community. Yuen: That’s correct, and with an O2O play that we believe would make a difference. Imagine having competitive pools with real life streaming.
Azeban: That is exactly why I believe games like League of Legends will still be around 10 years from now and still be as big. Have you ever thought or planned on a partnership with big real life streamers?
Yuen: We are in fact talking to a few esports team, and they do believe that gamefi could be the next esports.
Azeban: Lets go over your tokenomics, What are the utilities of your token. What is the circulating and total supply?
There are 5 token usages for GEMS We make GEMS token to be available across our whole ecosystem.
Yuen: On a sidetrack, I personally have been an advisor to many blockchain projects and hence I am the main architect of the token system, which we believe to be among the best designs.

Yuen: To clarify, the offline expansion belongs to GEMS founding partner Arena esports, which GEMS will leverage on to as the O2O dimension and play. We are focusing on building the community after raising very successfully on our private rounds, and at the same time building our product to make it into a seamless experience for our online and offline customers.
