Before we start, could you please introduce the #GEMSter a little bit about yourself and your role in IKONIC?

It will be my pleasure. My name is Sebastian Diaconu, CEO of IKONIC. I have more than 14 years experience across banking, financial industry, Crypto and Blockchain, 2 years CEO of a CEX, 2 years CEO of a Blockchain Enterprise Solutions Accelerator and from 2021, in IKONIC

As a person who have been in the industry for so long, what are your thoughts about gaming and blockchain?
Sebastian Diaconu:
Great question. I got in contact with Crypto in 2014 (when Bitcoin was, believe it or not, below $800). I got more interested in Blockchain technology once Ethereum was launched and I saw the potential of this industry. I’m a gamer for over 30 years, I think that, itself, says it all. But together? I think it’s just a normal step of evolution. Gaming and Blockchain HAVE to be together. There is so much upside potential, as traditional gaming is evolving towards ESPORTS 3.0, along with the Web 3.0. We are at crossroads and it can only get better from now onwards

Can please share with our #GEMSter on what the partnership includes in IKONIC project?
Sebastian Diaconu:
Well, I think I will start with mentioning G.E.M.S. as our esteemed partner. Metafluence, ARize, Torte de lini (DOTA 2 Hero Guide with over 500M subscriptions), Digicorp, Earn Guild and a lot of ongoing discussions with Esports and Blockchain related projects

Moving on, could you please also tell us about the goals you want to achieve this year?
Sebastian Diaconu:
We are happy as well.
Sebastian Diaconu:
Of course, I think the first objective is to finalise our platform and do the IDO. We aim for end of Q2 2022 as official launch. Our Platform will be ready in about 6–7 weeks for official launch, with a plethora of features and a state-of-the-art UI/UX. Afterwards we want to add our Gamification plan for our platform to increase the engagement and reward the active users and toward the end of the year we will start working on our Metaverse, an extension of our Marketplace and, in the same time, an extension of our ecosystem and social platform that we are currently developing.

I’m glad that you asked. Yes, we do have. We have 2 videos on our Youtube channel (that we will share at the end), where everyone can see how the platform function and looks like. Furthermore, we are planning for a close beta testing in less than 2 weeks

Moving on, can you tell us about the changes that you want to bring into gaming?
Sebastian Diaconu:
Yes, IKONIC is aiming to create additional revenue streams for Esports teams/players, gamers and streamers through NFT minting with lifetime Royalties on IKONIC Platform. Furthermore, just being part of IKONIC, through the gamification structure, we will keep gamers engaged, playing mini-games, hav ing quests, Rank up experience and levels and get rewarded. Another way of “playing IKONIC”, if you want. The Metaverse will expand the experience with head-to-head challenges between teams and more. Overall, we want to take gaming to another level. A game outside the game.

#1 The IKONIC platform allows gamers to collect and own the moment from your favorite Esports stars top gameplays, what does it mean to “own the moment”? In what ways can I generate revenue using your platform?
Sebastian Diaconu:
It’s very simple: “Own the moment” means that you can collect really exclusive moments created in gameplay like winning goal, combo kicks for winning the tournament, just to give a few examples. A moment, is a memorable clip, something worthy to become a Legacy. There are many ways to generate income from buying/selling NFTs, creating your own moments, participating to head-to-head games, fulfil different tasks on our platform and much more. And our range of revenue streams will continue to expand

It seems like a very attractive feature in IKONIC!

#2 I learnt that IKONIC has a feature that allow gamers to crop and edit their videos. How easy and user friendly will this feature be? Will there be a guideline or template that users will follow to make them have a seamless video clip to NFT minting experience?
Sebastian Diaconu:
When we first started to develop our platform, we aimed for an amazing user experience and I think we managed achieve it, thanks to our awesome Tech team. Let’s just say you need just 6–7 steps to reach out from uploading the video to mint the NFT. It will be incredibly easy to mint a moment, even if the users will be brand new to Crypto. Yes, we will have FAQ, guidelines and videos to show the process, as you will be able to see in the video we will attach at the end.

#3 Most regular players do not get the recognition that they deserve simply because they are not yet stars. But can you tell us how IKONIC will make regular players to get featured and showcase their skills to the world?
Sebastian Diaconu:
Excellent question. Yes, I agree that a very small percentage of gamers/players get the recognition they deserve. But how many of other gamers, out of over 3 billion gamers around the world, get little to no recognition? So many!
Sebastian Diaconu:
We want everyone to get the recognition they deserve. Show to us and our community how great of a gamer you are and not only you will be featured, but also rewarded. You, as a gamer, can prove yourself by simply showing us your skills. We will always support people that show and bring value. In the end, even the stars in traditional sports were young and not famous in the beginning. Why not to be the same with esports players or gamers? We are here to support value!

#4 Many NFT Gaming Platforms Only Targets the Blockchain Gamers , so Is IKONIC Platforms.
Is Different From them, Do You also Planning to Attract the TRADITIONAL GAMERS Into Your Platform?
Sebastian Diaconu:
We are a platform for both traditional and Blockchain gaming and gamers
So that, from the start, is a major difference. We think that traditional gaming is directing most of the revenue toward publishers, not gamers and we want to help them monetize their skills.
Sebastian Diaconu:
Furthermore, we also consider ourselves a bridge between traditional gaming and P2E gaming (Blockchain gaming). Adoption, is a key word. We have a bold mission, but we are confident that we will manage to achieve it. We give everyone a way to earn more, be more engaged, be more connected, eliminate the barriers.

Indeed! Bridging traditional gaming users through blockchain, it is also one of the vision of GEMS!

#5 @official_ikonic mission is to get esports stars to the position where they deserve to be recognized as true athletes, so I want to know what plans #IKONIC has to achieve this mission? How will you change the minds of people who don’t believe that esports is Sport?

I think that our Hero journey, from the nerd behind a screen that is, so called, wasting his/her time to a true eathlete, that is using his skills, coordination, mind to achieve greatness, hours and hours of hard work, just like a regular athlete, is our biggest and most beautiful challenge
Sebastian Diaconu:
We are promoting their moments, themselves (esports players, teams, even gamers or streamers) as a part of the new sport that is conquering even the Olympics, which is the esports. And as every sport, they are also athletes. We want to eliminate the line between the traditional sports and esports
Sebastian Diaconu:
In the end, as well as not everyone can be Messi, Ronaldo, Michael Jordan, the same is that not everyone can be as good as S1mple, for example.

Through our platform, we want a simple thing: athletes are athletes and we will always promote that!

NFT platforms UI/UX many a times are not favourable and user freindly for non-expert and one needs to look for guides on how to go about it. Is ikonic only for expert or non expert are also welcome? Do you have a guidance document or videos to watch his to create or buy Nft on Ikonic?

[In reply to Andy Y]I couldn’t agree more. NFT Marketplaces tend to create headaches, especially for newcomers. However, IKONIC Marketplace will set new standards in terms of UI/UX. Extremely intuitive, a few steps between connecting wallet, uploading the video up to minting it and place the NFT on our marketplace, the whole experience is as easy as it is fun. IKONIC is both for experts and newcomers. There will be FAQs, guidelines and videos to explain the whole process. Everyone should become experts in just a few minutes.

Yes, that is true in more than 90–95% of the cases. We all been through 2017 ICO nightmare and I think we learned a lot from that. Strong team, strong and loyal community, a clear Roadmap, enough support from backers, sustainable ecosystem and tokenomics and knowing exactly what to do, regardless of the market evolution (a big issue is that a lot of projects are market dependent, rather than Project value-dependant). We have all that and we are extremely confident that not only we will be successful, but our platform will create a standard in the industry

Our SC are audited by HACKEN. Furthermore, we have a Bug Bounty program in our sight to make sure we discover any vulnerabilities before they can actually affect the project. Security is vital in any Project that aims long-term success and sustainability.

We are working on a governance model that will allow the community to express their opinion regarding the future developments of IKONIC. We are a community centric project and it’s normal, in my opinion, to ask guidance in our adventure. Plus, we will have many reward programs for our community as well. Yes, I agree with that. Esports partnerships, in our case, are extremely important. I mentioned Torte de lini (DOTA 2), Earn Guilds and we are in discussions with esports team from all around the world, from Asia to Americas for partnerships. The main benefits will be to create quality content for IKONIC platform, increase fanbase and IKONIC users, participate to tournaments that we will (co)-organize and more. I think, a partnerships is always starting from a point and evolves according to the evolution of the parties involved.
