July was a huge success for the GEMSTER community. It was the month of Esports Tournament and Conventions, a ‘month-ful’ of partnerships and activities for GEMS, including Singapore Blockchain Week. But we never run out of cards to play. GEMS has an upcoming PUBG Mobile Tournament scheduled for August 13, in Thailand. Gamers should be prepped for this Play-to-Earn Expo.
Partnerships & Relations
We made collaborations with some notable names in the gaming space in July. MegaFans was one of the Mobile Esports Tournament platforms that joined us. It will bridge Web2 and Web3 for the gaming community and help gamers from both spaces by co-branding, networking and building communities together. We also partnered with P2E PvP dragon racing game Hydraverse, multichain P2E Games Guild PlayNity and the fully decentralized ARPG game Mecha Morphing.
Encentive.io is another important partner we made in July. The Web3 OS and development tool brings interoperability into play. This means cross-chain compatibility and value proposition to the user, which will attract more adoption of Web3 ecosystems.
GEMS’ CEO, Andy Koh also had the opportunity to interact with FOTA CEO, Grey Trinh, and regional head of MENA, Binance, Richard Teng, after the Singapore Blockchain Week 2022 event.
Singapore Blockchain Week 2022
We were delighted to attend the 2022 edition of Singapore Blockchain Week, held from July 26–27. GEMS took the opportunity to introduce our NFT rental system that attracts more conventional gamers to GameFi. GEMS co-founders starred on the event by differentiating Web2 and Web3, urging companies and investors to join the development of a shared economy, and discussed the inclusive world of Web3 and the metaverse.
Esports Tournaments
When we say we had a busy month, we really mean it. We hosted four Esport Tournaments in July, from Vietnam to Singapore. The fun never ends– now we are getting ready for another PUBG Tournament in Thailand.
This is how it went down:
- PUBG Mobile Tournament in Vietnam:
A squad contest mode, five team matches for a grand prize of 5 million VND in Say Coffee, Vietnam.
Eagle Esport took the first spot, while Bao Nam United and FLC Gaming claimed the second and third spots, respectively. Next Generation took fourth place.
- Web2 and Web3 Tournament in Singapore Blockchain Week 2022:
Gamers will register to our future platform for awards through blockchain. We Hosted Splinterland 1v1 and DOTA2 Esports Tournaments for event-exclusive GEMS NFTs prizes.
- Web3Con PUBG Mobile Tournament by GEMS:
We rented an entire floor in Zouk in Singapore Web3 and Metaverse Week 2022 on 28th July, with live broadcasters commentating on the tournament.
The Player teams registered to our tournament platform got to join the $3000 SGD prize pool! At the end, ALLSTAR from Singapore was the champion, with first runner up went to TEAM ARCANA, and FARANG SG team secured second runner up place.
Upcoming Esports Tournament
We are excited to announce to the GEMSTERS of the upcoming PUBG Mobile Tournament. The P2E Expo will be held at W Hotel Bangkok, Thailand and Metaverse on August 13 from 9am-6pm. Over 100 teams are already participating.
